The work in supporting young people around Coventry and Warwickshire by the YMCA is only made possible by the generous contributions of the public andthe various funding bodies which support the organisation. CWYMCA expresses it’s deepest gratitude for all the funding assistance that has been provided by all its funders, including those listed here:
YSDF (Youth Sector Development Fund)
In 2009 Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA recieved a substantial funding award from the Youth Sector Development fund in order to improve and rework many of the key areas in which it delivers its work with young people. For more information please see the YSDF page or visit the YSDF website.
Myplace
The Myplace fund is delivered by Big Lottery on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). In 2009 Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA recieved £2.2m in funding from Myplace in order to build a brand new facility in the Stoke Aldermoor area of Coventry. Over the next few years the construction and development of this new project will ensure Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA are able to deliver the highest standard of service within Stoke Aldermoor.
GAP Foundation
The GAP Foundation has been an important partner and a welcome funder for Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA for some time, and is integral in helping support the youth and community work that the organisation provides around the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
Coventry City Council
Over the years Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA and Coventry City Council have been close partners and have worked together to help bring new opportunities to children and young people in Coventry. The council is a vital funder and their contributions have helped Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA develop in recent years to the position it occupies today.
Supporting People
Supporting People is a programme aimed at helping organisations such as Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA develop their supported housing projects. Within Coventry and Warwickshire the YMCA has several dedicated supporting housing projects and with the help of Supporting People has made them into safe, secure homes for young people to live in and move towards independence.
Positive Activities for Young People
Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA is dedicated towards letting young people enjoy a range of fun activities through its youth and community work, and Positive Activities for Young People have been a vital partner in helping develop these programmes for its youth activity centres in Willenhall, Stoke Aldermoor and Pridmore.
Children in Need
BBC Children in Need shares many of the values of Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA, and is equally comitted towards helping young people build a better future within their local communities. Their support has been a great help in developing the reach of the organisation.
Orbit Heart of England
Orbit Heart of England are a key funder that have helped Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA through their capacity as one of the largest Midlands-based Registered Social Landlords. The YMCA Community Centre in Pridmore, Coventry was generously provided by Orbit Heart of England to act as a hub for youth and community work within the area.
Neighbourhood Support Fund
The Neighbourhood Support Fund (NSF) is a three-year funding initiative from the Department for Education and Skills, set up to feed into the Connexions programme. It aims to re-engage the most disaffected and disengaged 13-19 year olds living on the poorest estates back into education, training and employment.
