Gift aid and payroll giving
Gift aid is tax relief on money donated to UK charities. Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA will as such be able to reclaim the tax from the Inland Revenue and so increase the value of the donation.
However donors must pay enough UK income tax and/or capital gains tax themselves to cover the amount of tax the charity will reclaim. They will also need to give the charity a gift aid declaration, which should include:
Their name, home address, the charity’s name and details of the donation (that it is a gift aid donation) and confirmation that they have paid UK tax.
If you can give us the above information we can do the rest!
Payroll giving
Did you know that you can make a regular tax-free payment to our charity direct form your pay?
Payroll giving donations are deducted before tax, so each pound donated will only cost you 78p if you are a standard rate tax payer or 60p if you pay tax at a higher rate.
For more information contact your payroll department to authorise deductions.
