A Volunteer’s Story
Richard Bett joined Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA in June 2008, working on a voluntary basis from the head office at Daimler Green. As a full-time volunteer Richard worked as a press liaison and helped to promote the events and services that the YMCA had available in Coventry and Warwickshire.
“I’m very grateful for all the assistance Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA gave me during my time as a volunteer,” said Richard “It gave me a chance to gain valuable experience working with them, and allowed me to hone my skills in an exciting and dynamic workplace.”
In January 2009 the YMCA offered to take on Richard full-time, and he now works as the organisation’s media and communications officer, managing and maintaining all of Coventry and Warwickshire YMCA’s media and marketing coverage.
